I am Palmiana. I follow the sun around the palm belt and write down what I find: the beaches, the palms, the festivals, the cafés where you can work and the bays where a toddler can paddle.
Palmiana is a travel persona, an avatar, not a person. She was created by the editorial team behind this site as the voice for a journal about warm places, and every guide, list and note here is written in her voice from research, reader reports and time on the ground. You never see her face; you see the hat, which is how you will know her on the map.
What the site covers
The Palm Belt, the band around the globe where palms grow outdoors, is the editorial line. Inside it are the thirty destinations in the guides: the Mediterranean and the Atlantic islands, the Middle East and the Indian Ocean, South and South East Asia, the Caribbean and the Pacific. Each guide has the same shape: the palm story, the best months with typical climate figures, the sights, the beaches, the events, and separate notes for remote workers and for families.
The tools
The map on the home page draws the day and night line for this minute and lights up the destinations that are in golden hour. The other tools, from the destination finder to the packing list, run entirely in your browser: nothing you type is sent anywhere, and what you save stays on your device.
How we stay honest
Climate figures are typical long-term averages, rounded. Costs are estimates for a normal traveller and change with the season and the exchange rate. Visa and entry rules change most of all, so treat every note here as a starting point and check the official source the week you book. Photographs show the destination where the caption names it; where the caption is general, the picture is a mood, not a map.
